“The rhythm of Latin music – sexy, edgy and persuasive. Fresh limes and zesty grapefruit dance over a heart of blue agava flower. Sea salt cuts through the primitive rawness of cacao to reveal the sensuality of vetiver, cinnamon and musk.”
This is what the Jo Malone website says about this scent. Is it true? You can read it here …
A while ago I did a swap with someone on the Dutch Fragrantica forum. If you aren’t Dutch, the English/American forum is even bigger so make sure you subscribe. Lots of perfume loving people and information!
I did a swap with my Paradiso by Roberto Cavalli, it was kind of a mistake to buy that and I fell for the “30% off”. I learned that I’m never ever going to buy a scent only because of the huge discount. I’ve one smelled it on a classmate of me and it smelled devine … later on I noticed that my skin hates the fruity type of scents.
Someone from the Dutch Fragrantica wanted to have it and did a swap with me. I got some pretty nice scents. One of them was the Jo Malone Blue agave & Cacao one. Oh I’m so in love with this … it’s so clean and soft. The perfect scent for a relaxed day. I wouldn’t wear this at work or school. (Need something strong) But when you want to smell subtile and nice … might as well go for this.

Top: Linden blossom, Graperuit, Red berries, Cardamom
Mid: Lily, Orchid, Geranium
Base: Vanilla, Cinnamon, Musk, Vetiver, Cacao
But I’m going to be honest with you guys. To me it just smells like chocolate. I don’t really get the grapefruit and red berries. To me the top notes are more about linden blossom and cardamom. The first sniff smells very natural.
Like you walk in a park and smell fresh flowers. After that the lily really makes an dominant entrance and somehow I smell a little grapefruit. It starts fresh but on the same side soft. This is such a calming scent, I could imagine baby lotion smelling like this.
After a while as it starts to blend with the skin and warmth of the body, you really get the cacao and vanilla and all you have left is a full on chocolate scent. Perfect for the holidays, if you don’t want to smell overpowering but still smell nice.
I think it’s a very classy and simple scent.
Smilar to: I honestly don’t know any scent that’s similar to it, only the Jill Sander Sun Delight that smells like white chocolate and could be a sister of this one. Jo Malone Blue Agave & cacao is the more mature and expensive version. It’s the kind of scent you want your clothes to smell like. Pure and soft.
I really want this in a full-size version since I have the little one. I love this so much even though it’s not strong and spicy (how I like it) at all.
It’s worth the hype, the first Jo Malone scent I’ve been testing is well done.
Price: € 100 for 100 ml.
