As some of you may know, I love Chanel and I love leather fragrances. I wrote a blogpost about one of my favorite scents that contain leather: Fan di Fendi Leather Essence, but now my favorite brand has one to.

Cuir De Russie is part of  the exclusive range by Chanel, and is out of all the exclusive Chanel scents I have been testing the best. Also this perfume is inspired by Russia in the 1920s, and I’m currently loving anything Russian because I am going to Saint Petersburg in February!

The fragrance launched in 2007, created by Ernest Beaux. Lex Exclusifs de Chanel is a range of luxurious fragrances different than the other ones you know like No5 or Mademoiselle. It’s quite hard to get a full size bottle of these in The Netherlands. But I think the Dutch store Bijenkorf sells it.

Cuir de Russie is a very sensual and leathery scent that leaves an impression and is not very Chanel-ish in my opinion. The scent starts with orange blossom, some bergamot and mandarin. A very fresh start for something that will develop into a smoky leather.

The heart of the perfume consist of jasmin, rose, ylang-yolang and birchwood. There is also tobacco, musk and something oriental in this scent. It’s kind of an unisex Chanel if I say so.

For a leathery scent, this is mild. It’s a subtle lady-like leather scent that is for work but also for going out. Of course in the beautiful basic chique Chanel packaging. This is a wonderful gift !

The downside is .. it’s €255 euros, and hard to get. The perfume comes in an 200ml bottle which is huge ! There is also a smaller version in the iconic Chanel bottle and is €186 not for when you are on a budget.

What is your favorite Chanel le Exclusifs? This one is definitely my fav.

Have a nice day.

Much love
